When will tax assistance be available and how can it be accessed?
Taxpayers who earned up to $50,000 in 2011 may start scheduling appointments now by dialing 2-1-1, although VITA sites do not open until January 17,
2012.
Dialing 2-1-1 allows taxpayers to schedule an appointment for free tax
assistance at one of the VITA program’s free tax preparation sites. In
addition to appointment scheduling, 2-1-1 call specialists inform taxpayers of
documentation required for tax preparation, saving them both time and
frustration.
All dates and times are subject to change. Call 2-1-1 for up-to-date hours of operation and appointment availability.
All locations offer free
parking for VITA participants.
VITA site closings due to inclement weather will follow
the closing schedule of Greenville County Schools for Greenville County sites and Pickens County Schools for Pickens County sites.
