Community Initiatives

United Way is committed to making sure all contributions are effectively and responsibly utilized. Dedicated United Way volunteers invest donor contributions in 106 local programs offered by 69 partner agencies and organizations.

Additionally, United Way is leading efforts to build innovative collaborations and strategic initiatives that create long-term impact in our community.

Initiatives and services working toward community solutions in the priority issues of life essentials, school readiness, high school graduation, and financial stability. Services include school readiness initiatives like the Institute for Child Success, the high school graduation-focused BOOST (Building Opportunities in Out of School Time), financial stability programs like the United Way Center for Working Families and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and general capacity-building programs like AmeriCorps, Greenville Dreams, the Faith-Based Roundtable, the Hispanic Alliance, the community volunteer initiative Hands On Greenville, and the 24-hour resource line 2-1-1.

Donor contributions create a base of support that is then leveraged to bring together corporate partners, volunteers, foundations, and local, state and federal grant funding. The result is greater, far-reaching impact that not only changes individual lives, but makes our community stronger.
