United Way Elects 2009 Officers and Board Members

United Way of Greenville County held its Annual Meeting and Campaign Awards Celebration on February 10, 2009 to recognize community accomplishments, elect new officers, and honor area businesses and contributors for their outstanding support in the 2008 annual campaign.  United Way Board Chairman Tami McKnew, of Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, addressed the more than 1,100 United Way volunteers and supporters who attended the event.

“I want to express my appreciation for the privilege of serving the United Way of Greenville County,” said McKnew.  “We are blessed to be surrounded by volunteers, donors, and partners so vested in advancing the common good in Greenville County.  It is an honor to walk with you on our journey to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need help, and to create lasting change that results in a better life for us all.”

Persons elected as United Way Officers for 2009 at the Annual Meeting are: William B. Engle (Chairman); Margaret E. Clark  (Vice Chairman & Chairman Elect); Gene Covington (Secretary); Jerry O. Chapman (Treasurer); Tami McKnew (Immediate Past Chairman); W. Howard Boyd. Jr. (Campaign Chairman); Dick Wilkerson (Campaign Vice Chairman); Margaret E. Clark (Community Impact Chairman); and Ann K. Robinson (Community Impact Vice Chairman).

Individuals elected as members to the Board of Trustees for 2009 are:  Margaret E. Clark, The Honorable Chandra E. Dillard, J. Arnold Burrell, Doran A. Dunaway, Scott Evans, Jil Littlejohn, Sandy McLean, Tami McKnew, Jason Richards, Dennis Trice, C. Frederick West, Dick Wilkerson, and Robert H. Yeargin.
