effectively and responsibly utilized. Supporting programs that work
within critical areas — Nurturing Children, Strengthening Families,
Improving Health, Guiding Youth and Helping in Times of Crisis — is the
foundation for a caring community.
Hundreds of dedicated United Way
volunteers are investing donor contributions in 87 programs offered by local partner providers. Providing support to
these programs to support essential basic needs for individuals,
families and neighborhoods is a fundamental part of building a caring community.

Eliminating Future Needs through a commitment to addressing the root causes of critical problems. For instance, what are the root causes that leave a family homeless? We are committed to investing more time and resources on these bigger challenges. United Way’s community priorities cover key areas that we believe can most significantly change our community long term.
- School Readiness: Young children must start school safe, healthy and ready to learn
- High School Graduation: Youth must graduate from high school prepared for success
- Financial Stability: Our citizens must be financially stable, with the ability to provide and care for themselves and their families
