Brad Nivens is proud to say he has overcome his drug addiction and has been clean for five years. However, he still faces many challenges.
As a single father with two autistic sons, Brad has been longing for a safe and secure place his family could call home.
Thanks to United Way of Greenville County and our partners at Habitat for Humanity, Brad can now take a deep breath. He is happier, fulfilled and less stressed. United Way and Habitat for Humanity volunteers worked tirelessly to build a customized home for the family, keeping the safety and security of his autistic sons in mind.
“There are no words to say thank you for it. It’s that incredible of a feeling to know that Habitat and United Way is doing this for people,” he said. “You will never know how much it means to me.”
The commitment of United Way donors has given many other families and individuals peace of mind. Last year, more than 100,000 people were assisted with basic needs such as health care, emergency assistance, developmental delays and more.
