GREENVILLE, S.C.—More than 350 volunteers from thirteen local companies came together today to participate in United Way of Greenville County’s 2nd annual LIVE UNITED Day.
LIVE UNITED Day was held in conjunction with each participating company’s United Way workplace campaign. In addition to their financial giving, United Way donors rolled up their sleeves to give their time as volunteers.
Volunteer teams completed projects across Greenville County, including youth mentoring, afterschool education, gardening, food drives and more.
“LIVE UNITED Day builds a tremendous sense of community spirit in Greenville County,” said Ted Hendry, president of United Way of Greenville County. “Through these volunteer projects, people have the opportunity to experience a personal connection with United Way’s efforts to fight for the basic needs, education and financial stability of every person in our community. We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to these donors and volunteers for their support.”
