United Way Launches 2017 School Tools Drive

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Giving kids the tools they need to succeed in school—and in life. That’s the ultimate goal of United Way School Tools, a program designed to give students of low-income families the best possible start to the school year.

“Each year, the School Tools project helps more than 3,000 Greenville County students start school ready to learn by providing school supplies and a backpack to each of them,” said United Way President Ted Hendry. “School Tools distribution day is set for Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Today, we’re launching this year's effort to collect supplies for students in Greenville County.”

There are a couple of different options for you to get involved:

Make a financial gift

Text SCHOOLTOOLS to 41444 or click here to make a donation. We will use your donation to provide bookbags and supplies to students in need. Every $25 donated will provide a bookbag and school supplies to a local student in time for the first day of school.
