United Way of Greenville County is actively coordinating with local shelters, food partners, emergency management and healthcare providers in response to extreme cold weather conditions. Information on this page is updated as conditions change and new resources become available.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is currently providing shelter services 24/7 for men and women.

Warming Station Hours: Open daily from 10:00 AM – 4:45 PM

Update: Women and children shelter is now full.

Will open its severe weather shelters at 8:00 PM on Friday, January 30.

Shelters will operate 24/7 through Saturday and Sunday, however there may be a temporary pause Sunday afternoon to allow for cleaning and reset before reopening.

American Red Cross

Opening emergency shelters across the Upstate beginning Friday, January 30 at 7:00 PM.

  • Clearview Baptist Church
    5611 State Park Rd., Travelers Rest, SC 29690
  • Anderson Civic Center
    3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Anderson, SC 29625
  • Blue Ridge Community Center 315 Holland Ave., Seneca, SC 29678
  • Pickens County: The South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) is on standby to open a shelter if needed. Location is to be determined.

⚠️ Because conditions may change quickly, shelter locations and hours may open or close based on community need.
