Home ownership is one of the best investments and wealth generators for families, yet population growth and the real estate boom in Greenville County is putting a disproportionate strain on low-income families.
The market has had difficulty keeping up with demand, which has increased the competition and cost for housing. Median household income is not keeping up with cost, decreasing the affordability of housing for families in Greenville County.
13,163 households in Greenville County spend more than half their income on rent.
It is estimated that Greenville County needs about 20,000 low-cost housing units to meet the current demand.

Connect individuals experiencing chronic homelessness with stable, unconditional housing and support services.
