Born right here in Greenville, Josh White rose from humble beginnings to become one of the 20th century’s most influential folk and blues musicians, using his music to challenge racial injustice and break barriers in entertainment.
On Saturday, August 1, AAL invites you to the world premiere of The House I Live In: Josh White’s America, presented by the South Carolina New Play Festival. Your day includes:
- 1 PM – Pre-show conversation with playwright Donnetta Lavinia Grays and director Tamilla Woodard
- 2 PM – Performance at the beautifully restored Cristal Palace, 912 S. Main St.
- 3:45 PM – Exclusive AAL reception following the show
