United Way’s Young Leaders Society (YLS) is a network of engaged people under the age of 40 who share a passion for helping others and strengthening our community with United Way. YLS members connect through unique education and networking events, serve through hands-on volunteer opportunities and grow through innovative leadership programs.
With an annual gift of $1,000 ($500 for those under 30) to United Way of Greenville County, the YLS is built for young leaders, by young leaders.
We host casual gatherings like happy hours and ping pong tournaments, as well as our annual YLS Oyster Roast, to promote connections with other community-minded young professionals and celebrate our contributions to the annual United Way campaign.
The Great Conversation
The Great Conversation connects young professionals with influential community leaders and United Way advocates. Join us for an evening of powerful dialogue around philanthropy and civic engagement — and how giving back to our community can influence your career. Click here to learn more.
YLS Annual Golf Tournament
YLS hosts the Fall in the Cup Classic golf tournament each year to benefit United Way of Greenville County’s annual campaign. Click here to learn more about sponsorship opportunities or to register your team.
YLS members meet regularly for volunteer projects to give back to the community we all call home. The YLS plays a large role in support of United Way’s signature events like School Tools and Project Joy.
Focusing on both leadership development and a deep exploration of community issues, That’s My Greenville participants attend monthly sessions to build knowledge and aptitude.
