Women United Jobs to Careers Scholarship

Communities need champions who understand their problems, see their potential and offer solutions that will make a difference.

Education is one of the strongest anti-poverty tools. In 2010, United Way of Greenville County’s Women United launched the Jobs to Careers Scholarship to offer financial support and guidance to empower Greenville County women to lead the way in our community.

Over the last 14 years, Women United’s Jobs to Careers Scholarship has graduated nearly 50 women in fields ranging from computer technology, healthcare and advanced manufacturing to business, accounting and more.

This scholarship was an amazing aid in my educational journey, enabling me to focus on my program without the burden of worrying about the financial aspect. My mentor checked in with me frequently, concerned not only about how school was going, but also about my personal life and mental health. She made sure I was doing well in all respects and was always willing to answer a text, call or email.

Johana Munoz Lopez, Prisma Health

The Jobs to Careers mentorship program provided me with valuable insight into my future goals and objectives, while the scholarship awarded me the means to accomplish them.

Katie Clark, United Community Bank

The Jobs to Careers scholarship program made a positive impact on my professional journey by providing financial assistance toward my educational goal and a mentor to help guide and encourage me while achieving my goal. I’ve continued to attend Women United events and the group continues to provide a community of women who truly support each other in our professional endeavors.

Jensine Reeder, The Source Unlimited

The scholarship program not only took the financial burden off my shoulders when I was in school, it gave me more confidence knowing I had been selected! I worked and continue to work better knowing that people believed in me.
