Making Spirits Bright
This has been a tough year for so many in our community, and it’s more important than ever to help meet the basic needs of Greenville County families.
Back in November, we launched Project Joy to alleviate the burden of holiday shopping for our neighbors and give you, our supporters, an opportunity to give back by fulfilling wish lists of essential items (and surprises) for Greenville County students. While many giving programs focus on younger grades, our work with OnTrack Greenville middle and high schools helped us to identify the needs of our older students. Project Joy provides a unique opportunity to support the needs of these students and their families.
Just three weeks after launching Project Joy, every single family had been matched! Today, we are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of over 820 Greenville County donors, 420 students and nearly 200 families will receive essential items like clothing, school supplies and hygiene items this holiday season. Several first-generation college students will start school in the fall with pillows, bedding, toiletries and more. From donor gifts to volunteer support, Project Joy contributed an estimated total impact of over $80,000 in our community. Thank you.
We can’t wait to offer this opportunity for years to come. You can sign up here to be the first to know when Project Joy launches in Fall 2021.
Thank you for raising your hand, coming together and providing for our neighbors during a year and a season when we all needed to spread a little cheer. Your support is making spirits bright in Greenville County and building a future where all people have access to the opportunities to achieve their full potential.
