School Tools Helps 1,200 Greenville County Students Start the School Year With Backpacks and Supplies

There’s nothing like a brand new backpack on the first day of school, filled with all the essentials for the year ahead. Unfortunately, for many families already struggling to make ends meet, back-to-school shopping creates another financial hardship. But with your help, we’re making this time of year easier for thousands of our neighbors.

This year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers and community partners, we collected a grand total of 1,253 backpacks filled with binders, folders, notebooks, pencils and so much more. Hundreds of students in Greenville County elementary, middle and high schools will now start school next week ready to learn and succeed.

An estimated 2,153 individuals participated in this year’s program, giving their time and resources to help lift the burden on local families. From volunteer hours to financial support, School Tools generated an estimated community impact of over $160,000!

Thank you to each and every company, family, community group and individual who showed up to make an impact. Your support is helping us build a stronger, more equitable Greenville County for all.
